Most of you reading the blog know by now my husband is relatively involved with the horses. Even though he doesn't ride much outside of the occasional trail ride, he is still pretty hands on - way more hands on than a lot of other spouses to crazy horse folks ;). It's not something I spend a lot of time thinking about until an experience like the show, where a TON of people commented on it. I guess it seems fairly unusual from their perspective, but it's sort of always how our relationship has been. We both support each other's hobbies (although thankfully his are less time-consuming than horses lol), and try to find ways to spend time together as much as possible. It's hard to put into words how much that means to me, but I do try to make sure he knows how much I appreciate it! After the show, I bought him a bottle of nice bourbon and made sure he knew he was off the hook for driving to lessons and taking photos for a while, lol.

Just helping <3 |
Everyone's relationships are different and there is no "right" way for a spouse (or SO) to support our horse habits, but I am so appreciative this is our way.

DeleteI love how helpful your hubs is with the horses. Even if it's not fully his thing. Just goes to show how he feels about you, and that's pretty special.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really unique way to look at it, thanks for articulating that! ❤️
