I'm skating on writing a real entry because I spent my normal blogging time watching Downton Abbey with my family while it rained, but we did make some progress towards the arena lights this weekend!
|
Wellllll we're gonna try anyway. |
|
Building the brace to hold up the heavy lights! |
|
Still need some tweaking on the spacing and the angles. |
|
And DH said "let there be light!" |
That's not the final location where we'll put the lights, but it worked to test them and see what kind of coverage they will have. We need to move the lights around a little on the brackets and change the angle, but I feel pretty confident they will more than work for our purposes! The next goal will be to dig the post holes and concrete in the posts, then run 250 feet of wire and conduit (including a section we have to bury, hooray, haha). If everything goes according to plan, they should be functional by the end of the month, and the total investment will be about $500, give or take $50 #onabudget #handyhusband. I'm super excited!
So exciting! Can't wait to see the final product
ReplyDeleteMe too!

ReplyDeleteFingers crossed we can finish up this month!
DeleteYah! Arena lights are super exciting!
ReplyDeleteEveryone at work is like 'they're just lights, calm down' -- so glad my fellow horse people can understand my excitement! 😁
DeleteSo cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat is awesome. I'm glad that you found a solution
ReplyDeleteYeah, all the input I got on my post about it was super helpful!
DeleteWow. I really want to do this for my place. It seems to be more than bright enough.
ReplyDeleteWe conducted some tests last night and I think DH wants more lights, so we'll see how it goes. I definitely think what we have is enough, but he's a perfectionist 😂
